Quiet Company CD Release Party

I’m aware of a few quiet companies. Most computer development offices, for example, have enough social awkwardness in them to make a chubby 7th grade boy feel uncomfortable. Candle stores and GRE testing centers could be constituted as being quiet companies as well in my humble and loud-natured opinion.

Ironically enough, one institution that does not subscribe to hush hushes is Austin’s own Quiet Company. After a bang and a clatter in 2010, Quiet Company seemed to pop up EVERYWHERE. Due to a strong response after their SXSW ’10 sojourns and a self-produced EP that was picked up by major radio stations around Austin, the guys had a busy year. Pop pop poppy pop! They landed opening spots for Bob Schneider, The Toadies, and Rooney and a kick ass deal with Grooveshark, but have yet to slow down.

Their third album titled We Are All Where We Belong will be released this Thursday and Friday at the ND with quite the smattering of other local bands. If you broke your dance pants or are just a mellow human, there’s an all acoustic show on Thursday where sips of a cocktail and rhythmic head bobbin are not only acceptable but encouraged.

We have heard that tequila is to fixing dance pants as rice is to salvaging iPhone’s, though. If that’s the case, and you perk up (poor buttercup) then you should come Friday night as well. This shindig will make you happier than a dancing squirrel in a tiny pleather Elvis costume and really, that’s a pretty hard task. If you feel compelled to dress as a pleather clad squirrel Elvis impersonator though, I’m sure QC would be down to buy you a beer.

Saints of Valory, the band that kicked off the inaugural Do512 Lounge Session, will be playing as well. We always think of dogs being painted regally into antique paintings when we hear the word valory. Anyways… there’s very few voices that can cause you to get in your car and test your vocal range while doing 65mph on 71, but front-man Gavin’s is one of them. Trust me. Listen to their session below and see for yourself I embarrassed myself even trying.

Add Whitman and Black Books and bam she bam let’s call it a Friday! Now, let’s talk tickets. Take your adderal kids because there’s some thought that needs to go into this. Here’s the breakdown straight from their website:
