It’s science – if you like one, you’ll love the other. Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven will both be performing on Friday, May 20th at ACL Live!
Best described as “Americana”, Cracker has been bringing their unique mix of classic country, psychedelia, punk and folk to their fans since the 1990s. Camper Van Beethoven amassed a loving fan base in the mid 80s with their alternative indie rock sound. The band eventually broke up, but reunited in 2000 and has since created New Roman Times which has proven that the guys still have the magic that originally made them a success.
And to explain my bold opening statement: if you didn’t already know, the talented David Lowery serves as a singer/songwriter/guitarist for both bands. He’s not the only crossover between the two – drummer Frank Funaro also plays in both bands, while Camper Van Beethoven bassist Victor Krummenacher and keyboardist Kenny Margolis often jump in for performances with Cracker as well. Sounds like one big happy family, like the Partridges but way cooler. Lots of the same people but each of the band has a sound entirely unique to themselves. Regardless, we can’t wait to see all this amazing music on one stage!
