RealMusic Events is seriously advancing the dance scene in Austin. Through the production of quality shows with quality artists, in particular their month-long string of events dubbed MAYhem, they are delivering top-notch artists from around the world to Austin’s top venues! Much of the talent has never been to Austin or the entire state of Texas ever before, so needless to say they are making waves in the 512. On Friday, May 20 they continue the trend by bringing DJ/Producer Mark Knight to Light Bar. Here’s a taste:
Mark Knight has been a leading player in dance music culture for nearly a decade. 2010 was a banner year for the British house music producer, with a Grammy Nomination for work on the Black Eyed Peas’ multi-platinum album “The E.N.D.”, three of the biggest selling records on Beatport’s ‘Best Sellers List’ an IDMA nomination for his weekly radio show, and a prestigious Beatport award for his single “Good Times.” Often collaborating with fellow British DJ Funkagenda, some of his most successful releases are “Man With The Red Face” (with Funkagenda), “Downpipe” (with Underworld & D. Ramirez), and his remix of Underworld’s “Beautiful Burnout.”
As a performer, Mark Knight is recognized the world over for his extended 7 hour sets, and has headlined major music festivals and clubs such as Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, the Terrace at Space Ibiza, and London’s Ministry of Sound. As a producer he has also made a name for himself as the head of Toolroom Records, with an all-star artist roster that includes the likes of Deadmau5, David Guetta, Dirty South, and Fatboy Slim.
Joining in the fun at Light Bar will be the eye-catching, head-turning, jaw-dropping group of dancing vixens known as The GoGo Gadgettes. They have danced for many acclaimed artists and DJs such as The Black Eyed Peas, P. Diddy, Armin van Buuren, Benny Benassi and Rusko. Getting the party started will be local resident DJ/Producer Andrew Parsons, with Christian Barbuto and Ryan Parker.
