Free Press Summer Fest 2011

Aaaand it’s back!

Once again, tons of amazing bands will be invading Houston with Free Press Summer Fest 2011.  This year’s groups are especially impressive, ranging from 90s rock to groovy electro-pop.  Including Austin’s own Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, this year’s festival goers will be visiting with vintage soul revivalists, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, synth pop Australians, Cut Copy, and of course, alternative rock gods, Weezer.  They’ve also got Yeasayer, Ween, MF Doom, Black Dahlia Murder, and Beirut with his vintage orchestra on the list.

If this year’s FPSF is anything like last year, we’ll likely see strangers becoming friends over drinks (provided by Budweiser, Dulce Vida Tequila, and more,) sections of Eleanor Tinsley Park becoming natural slip and slides (weather permitting…) and, with any luck, the Mayor of Houston making an appearance onstage!

So, about the tickets…this year pass types include: General Admission ($45,) Fancy Pants ($100,) and the High Roller (sold out, sad face.)  There really isn’t a bad seat in the “house,” though.  Everyone will just be gettin’ cozy and crazy no matter where you are, so get your tickets now!  Only a few days left until the big party starts!  Get them here: http://freepresssummerfest.com/pass.php
