Armed with The Parson Red Heads as the opening band and Wild Divine as her back up, Alela Diane is ready to take on Austin– particularly Stubb’s on June 25th, starting at 9PM. Born in Oregon, raised in California, and known for her tours and music around Europe; The US has, like everything else, been slow to grasp this genre of music.
You may Alela her from “The Pirate’s Gospel”, her first record.
However, this new record, “Alela Diane & Wild Divine”, is completely out of the ordinary compared to her older albums; showing us her growth as an artist. Much of her newest albums’ lyrics come from her travels overseas; observing life, death, and what may or may not come. She also collaborates with her bassist and husband, Tom Bevitori, one thing she has never done before. Though her record may be full of firsts, there are two things she will always keep her powerful, yet sensual voice and down-home feel.
