With a 60’s style rock n’ roll sound, Austin-based band, Whalers are delivering a string of shows in July just in time for summer.
Formed in 2003, the band finally released their debut EP, How The Ship Goes Down, this past November.
“Less is More” has been the band’s mantra, which is clearly demonstrated on their album – showcasing smooth, yet fun melodies that grow on new-listeners with every track. In a music world where auto-tune and dubstep-like tunes are increasingly (somehow) all the rage, Whalers have taken the more straightforward route by giving its audience clean chords and light-poppish rock. But by doing so, the quintet is showing that that’s all they ever wanted in their music: simple, nostalgic rock n’ roll.
