Red Hot XX “The 20th Anniversary of Summer Party” @ Oilcan Harry’s 7/15

If you enjoy silent auctions, musicals, delicious food from Austin restaurants and supporting charities, then you’ll probably want to be downtown at Oilcan Harry’s a week from Friday (July 15th) for the 20th annual RED HOT Party.

Named “Best Independent AIDS Fundraiser,” RED HOT puts on an amazingly entertaining evening for all who attend, and in doing so, raise funds for various AIDS organizations.  This year, the RED HOT party will benefit Project Transitions, to fund AIDS and HIV education, prevention and client services programming in Central Texas.

The silent auction will have some awesome packages up for grabs, including trips, fine dining, and tickets to see some of the best acts coming to Austin venues.  You can bid on tickets packages to see Michael Feinstein at Bass Concert Hall, Idina Menzel and Huey Lewis at The Long Center, a Tuna Christmas at the Paramount Theatre, and more!  There’s even season tickets and offerings for the ZACH Theatre, Ballet Austin, Austin Symphony Orchestra, Austin Lyric Opera, Austin Cabaret Theatre, and the Capital City Men’s Chorus!

While silently auctioning, you can enjoy performances by two great theatre companies, the ZACH Theatre and The City Theatre.  The cast of ZACH’s summer production, Hairspray will perform selections from the musical, and The City Theatre‘s cast of Hair will also perform.

Sounds like a hairy good time.

Speaking of hairy, other performances include Dallas based entertainer, Shegotta Mustache, who puts on an energetic, upbeat and well, raunchy show:

Also performing are the Austin Babtist Women, Austin City Showgirls, and a Vegas-style revue.

Needless to say, this will be an action packed event, and it’s all for a great purpose.  So if you happen to be into having a good time while helping others, then this is your event.  Come to the 20th Annual RED HOT Party, benefiting Project Transitions.
