International Beer Day

Calling all beer lovers in Austin! Tomorrow, August 5th, is International Beer Day. According to, the holiday has three declared purposes: first, to gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer; second, to celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer; and third, to bring the world together under the united banner of beer by celebrating the beers of all nations and cultures together.

Breweries, pubs, and beer lovers all over the world will raise a glass to their favorite frothy brew tomorrow, and you should too! We encourage you to take this opportunity to try out a new beer from beyond our borders, be it a draft, bottle, can, growler, or even a keg full. Heck, you can even use this as an excuse to try out a new pub or bar in Austin that you haven’t yet patronized.

Just a few of the Austin establishments on our list of destination spots for International Beer Day are Black Sheep Lodge, Draught House Pub, Ginger Man, Crown & Anchor Pub, The Dog & Duck Pub, Aviary Lounge, B.B. Rovers, Fado Irish Pub, Flying Saucer, and Little Woodrow’s. See the full list here!

If you know of a good beer spot in Austin that we failed to mention, or have any good beer recommendations, please let us know by leaving a comment on this post. We’d love to hear from you.

There aren’t a lot of things the whole world agrees on, but enjoying beer is one of them, so let’s all raise a pint on this August 5th to beer, a drink that brings the world together.
