Women & Their Work presents: The Red Dot Art Spree

Art lovers of Austin – Women & Their Work has an event you just cannot miss. The 16th annual Red Dot Art Spree and silent auction will be held Thursday, September 15th at Women & Their Work gallery from 7-10pm. Proceeds from this event will be put towards funding the 50 events they hold each year in visual art, music, dance, literature, film, and theater. Women & Their Work is a “visual and performing art organization located in Central Austin that serves as a catalyst for contemporary art created by women living and working in Texas and beyond.” The organization also supports education programs which reach over 1,700 A.I.S.D students and teachers annually.

At the auction you’ll find more than 200 works including paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs and mixed media by some of Texas’ best talent – all for $500 or less. This is your chance to own some of the best contemporary art of our time as well as bid on incredible silent auction items and services ranging from gift certificates to dreamlike getaways to art inspired packages. Tickets for the Red Dot Art Spree are $80 each, available for purchase through September 14th.

However, you may be interested in getting there early for the VIP Pre Spree champagne hour from 6-7pm. The Pre Spree allows you to get the first pick on your favorite pieces for sale, so don’t miss this opportunity if you are a serious buyer. A limited number of tickets are available for $250 per person, which grants entry to the Pre Spree and the event itself. Not only do you get first pick before the Art Spree begins, you’ll enjoy champagne and receive early admittance to the event where you’ll be free to relax, enjoy the atmosphere and revel in the excitement of how beautiful your new painting or sculpture will look in your home.

Everything about this event sounds fantastic, and we haven’t even discussed the snacks yet! You’ll enjoy tasty treats from Fête Accompli, Aquarelle Restaurant Français & El Alma Café y Cantina, and signature drinks featuring Tito’s Handmade Vodka, fine wines and beer. Reason enough to go? I’d say so.

See you there!
