About the Bands:

Beardyman: What exactly is Beardyman? One minute he’s winning the UK Beatbox competition, twice, next he’s winning best MC at Breakspoll, and then he’s playing a sold-out run of solo comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. That’s not fair… Most people only get to do… well… none of those… but this is Beardyman we’re talking about. A leading light on the Beatbox scene since he landed on it with a bang in the mid noughties, Beardyman, (real name Darren Foreman) has always pushed beatbox way beyond what most beatboxers consider its limits. A uniquely gifted performer, his refusal to be put in a (more) and Indian: Cowboy & Indian is an Austin based folk rock group whose members consist of a dynamic and versatile talent. Equal part songwriter and musician, each member brings a kinship and unique voice that is an undeniable shining virtue, add salt of the earth folk tradition and rock/soul influence that harkens back to 70s woodstock era and you get the reason why this band has become the most talked about new band in Austin, TX. (more) Mississippi Allstars were founded in 1996; a product of a special time for modern Mississippi country blues. RL Burnside, Jr. Kimbrough, Otha Turner and their musical families were at their peak; making classic records and touring the world. Brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson soaked up the music of their father, Jim Dickinson, and absorbed the North Mississippi Blues legacy while playing and shaking it down at the juke joints with their blues ancestors. Luther (guitar and vocals) and Cody (drums and vocals) joined up with bassist Chris Chew to form the core of their own band, (more) Hurricane: Little Hurricane is a dirty blues/rock outfit from San Diego, CA. The band was formed in early 2010 when guitarist Tone met drummer CC thru an ad on Craigslist. They found a common interest in unique and vintage equipment and a love of grimey, down and dirty blues. Little Hurricane released their debut album HOMEWRECKER, in April of 2011, and are currently touring Southern California. (more) Ostrich: The focal point of the songs on Yellow Ostrich’s magnificent debut The Mistress is Alex Schaaf’s tender, pleading voice. It’s a reedy, childlike instrument, and on The Mistress it gets looped and layered, stretched, manipulated; it’s stacked up several high and, most often, it’s used as an instrument, fleshing out the empty spaces in his bare, searching songs. Aside from a pulsing bass guitar, it’s the only sound on “Hold On,” a kaleidoscope of “ohs” spiraling around Schaaf’s heartbroken opening: “Now that we’ve started, it’s sad to see it end.” That’s fitting: Schaaf is a secretary of (more) Bang is an alternative hip hop duo from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania consisting of Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege, and Noah “Xaphoon Jones” Beresin. The pair shot to international prominence in 2010 with the release of their major-label debut single Opposite Of Adults which peaked within the Top 20 on various singles charts worldwide including the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Belgium. Their performance brings a vibrant and fun live set that anyone can, and will jam out too. Chiddy’s trademark freestyle during their set is something that you have to see for yourself. (more) Covered in kudzu and swathed in a blanket of humidity, spanish moss, feedback and reverb exists Futurebirds; six Georgia natives who currently call Athens “home.” In 2009, these folks self-produced and released the six song Futurebirds EP—one of undeniable character. Less than a year later, there was a full-length in the can. That album, Hampton’s Lullaby, garnered praise for its Appalachian harmonies and ethereal melodies. The band toured, and continues to tour in 2011  (more) Warhol I am the thread that accents, not the fabric that overwhelms. Once in a while, true artistry comes along and the world takes notice. Chancellor Warhol is such an artist. Born Antonio Dewayne Boleyjack in Nashville,TN. Chancellor Warhol grew up engulfed in the diverse Nashville sound that shapes his very own music today. Combined with the natural love for fashion and design, he is an artist making his creative mark on the world. Chancellor Warhol started his music career with HunnedSpoke Entertainment, ran by long time friends Drupy, and Big Kev. (more) Touch With members hailing from both sides of the Atlantic this exciting 5-piece delivers a unique brand of British-American Rock music. The result is Electric Touch, the type of unbridled rock band that’s been missing from the scene for quite awhile — a monster of a group whose sound is big enough to fill an arena. The chemistry was instantaneous. Shane, who’s originally from Nottingham, England, landed in Austin, met guitarist Christopher and things just clicked. Soon Christopher’s twin brother Louis left Houston and headed to Austin to join Electric Touch on drums. (more) There is something inherently calming about large bodies of water. In times of emotional duress, standing at the edge of an ocean watching the waves roll in and out, centers the spirit in a way that standing on terra firma cannot. Kevin Murphy (lead vocals, guitar) chose to title the Moondoggies’ new album Tidelands in part because of a remote area outside his old stomping grounds of Ketchikan, Alaska where he used to go to escape from civilization. More importantly, as the sly recurring themes of water throughout the Seattle quartet’s second full-length underscore (more)
