Austin’s beloved Suzanna Choffel and Paul Oveisi are skipping town and heading to New York. Bid them adieu properly Friday Oct. 7 at Momo’s. They’re doing it up big, in typical Texas fashion, first one to cry gets a tequila shot!
Choffel’s latest release, Steady Eye Shaky Bow, has received some pretty stellar reviews from several of Austin’s music publications. Texas Music Monthly said Choffel has “a powerful sound that falls between Feist, Madaleine Peyroux and Ani DiFrano.” Austin Music + Entertainment said this is her best album and gave it a rare 4.5 stars. Plus, she does a theremin solo, and that’s not something to miss.
Eddy Hobizal, one of the best jazz musicians in Austin at the moment, will start the evening off at 7:45. Hobizal’s new album, Kinetic, received four stars from the Austin Chronicle, which stated that “this isn’t going to be your standard jazz album.” So get to Momo’s on time, you won’t want to miss him!
This is a special event honoring a special artist as she further pursues her musical passion. So come out if you can, it’s sure to be a good time!
And of course, “like” the event from Do512 for a chance to win tickets!
